The city of Spring Park, Minnesota features a number of outdoor recreational options that are available to its residents. As one of the lakeshore cities surrounding Lake Minnetonka, Spring Park prides itself in its 4.34 miles of shoreline. It is this connection to Lake Minnetonka that really showcases the outdoor amenities. In addition to the lake, Spring Park also offers a number of parks and trails. Some of the most notable examples include:

Lake Minnetonka: Spring Park has access to one of Minnesota’s greatest lakes, Lake Minnetonka. This massive lake has a very close-knit community and connection to it helps to link Spring Park to its neighboring cities. Thor Thompson Park: The largest of the Spring Park’s two parks, Thor Thompson Park offers a range of amenities. With newly upgraded baseball and basketball courts, a playground, tennis courts, and a small picnic area, Thor Thompson Park is one of the most popular family destinations in Spring Park.

Wilkes Park: Wilkes Park is a small neighborhood park located on Channel Road. The park offers a small playground, open green space, and a large rain garden. It is a great spot to let the kids play while enjoying a beautiful garden and open space.

Coffee Cove Fishing Platform: A local favorite, the Coffee Cove Fishing Platform is a great destination for the master anglers of the family. With plenty of fish and sunshine to catch, this fishing haven is sure to be a memorable family destination.

Dakota Rail Trail: The Dakota Rail Trail consists of 21.3 miles of hard surface biking and walking trails that stretch from the neighbouring city of Wayzata all the way to Mayer, Minnesota. Along the entire trail, bikers and walkers are treated to scenic panoramas of Lake Minnetonka. The portion through Spring Park measures roughly one mile in length and connects the city with Mound to the west and Orono to the east.
