Inver Grove Heights has an outstanding system of parks.  Over its 30 square mile area, the city has 27 parks.  Whether you are looking for a great trail, playground, volleyball or tennis court, disc golf, mountain biking, or fishing, the City of Inver Grove Heights Parks system has it. The city is dedicated to keeping their many parks beautiful and enjoyable.

Some highlights of the city’s park system are: North Valley Park has a challenging disc golf course; Salem Hills Park has a great intermediate mountain bike course; Rich Valley Athletic Complex has many soccer and softball fields; and the Rock Island Swing Bridge park has restored a historic swing bridge into a beautiful pier for the public to enjoy the Mississippi River.

The City of Inver Grove Heights also operates the Inverwood Golf Course which has a challenging and wooded championship 18 hole layout, and an executive 9 holes course, and a full practice facility.  

Inver Grove Heights’ Park and Rec Department provides the community with a variety of sports and recreational programs, as well as numerous special events and outings that utilize the city’s excellent park system.
