Here’s where the Twin Cities housing market stood in September 2026, metro-wide.
What the month showed
Prices held while the market underneath them shifted. The median sale was $395,000, up 1.3% from a year earlier. Homes for sale rose 11.2% while pending sales fell 11.7%, so supply was outrunning demand. Sellers received 97.7% of their original list price, compared with 98.4% a year before.
The 30-year mortgage rate was 7.24%, against 6.17% a year earlier. On the same median-priced home, that difference works out to about $225 more a month.
These are metro-wide figures, not a valuation of any one home. Price band, city and street matter more than the headline number.
