Overview of the Oak

Neighborhood


The Oak neighborhood lies in southwest Orono on the northeast side of North Arm Lake. Oak is a relatively small neighborhood that is made up of just under 20 single family homes that range between $370,000 to $1,270,000 in price. Although most homes are not directly located on the banks of the lake, residents of Oak do have easy access to both North Arm to the west and Stubbs Bay to the east. Oak is an excellent neighborhood with much to offer including great homes for sale, family friendly community, and easy access to some of the best amenities in Orono.

 

Oak is also close to several shopping, dining, and recreational amenities within the City of Orono, including Norenberg Memorial Minnetonka Center for the Arts in Orono, MinnesotaPark. This beautiful park is regarded as one of the finest gardens in Minnesota and is the perfect destination for a quiet stroll. Another nearby amenity is the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, which lies a couple miles to the east of Oak. Minnetonka Center for the Arts offers classes, exhibits, outreach, and a cafe in order to make art accessible to the surrounding community. The closest shopping center is located in downtown Maple Plain to the west. Popular restaurants include Subway, Pete’s Pizza, Blackwater Coffee Co & Cafe, and McGarry’s Pub

 

Oak is served by Independent School District 278, also known as Orono Public Schools, which serves around 2,000 students inOrono Intermediate School in Orono, Minnnesota grades K-12. All of the Orono schools are uniquely located in one located along Old Crystal Bay Road North and Lake Classen to the west. Orono Intermediate Elementary School serves around 700 students in grades 6-8. Class sizes average around 17 students per teacher. Other schools in the area include Schumann Elementary, Orono Senior High, and Orono Intermediate School.
