Lake Zumbra is a deep, clear lake in Carver County near Victoria, bordered by Carver Park Reserve. It’s about 271 acres and roughly 58 feet at its deepest.
Anglers find largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, crappie, perch, sunfish and bullhead.

Carver Park Reserve next door
Carver Park Reserve covers more than 3,000 acres. Its Lowry Nature Center runs year-round programs, and trails let you spot deer, raptors, beaver, otters, trumpeter swans and osprey. The Grimm Farm Historic Site shows off Minnesota’s farm heritage.
The park also has group camping, boat launches, fishing piers, an off-leash dog area, horse trails, paved bike and hike trails, turf hiking trails and access to the LRT trail.
Neighborhoods near the lake
Zumbra Ridge sits on the north side of the lake, and Foxglove and Smithtown Bay are close by.
What buyers check before they tour
- Schools: Most of Victoria is served by Eastern Carver County Schools (ISD 112), while homes on the northeast lakes side can fall in Minnetonka Public Schools (ISD 276). Confirm the assigned schools for any address.
- On or near the water: For lake-view or lakeshore lots, ask about shoreline rules, docks, flood zones and any lake association.
- Lake rules: Check current DNR fishing regulations and any city or watershed rules on docks, shoreline and boating before you buy or build.
- Condition: Roof, windows, mechanicals and drainage tell you more about a home’s next ten years than the paint color does. Plan a professional inspection.
