West Highland Park is a neighborhood located in West Bloomington between Bloomington Ferry Road and Bush Lake Road to the southwest of Highland Park. West Highland Park is one of the largest neighborhoods in the city, consisting of around 250 single family homes that range between $200,000 to $600,000 in price. House styles within the neighborhood are primarily a mix of ramblers, split levels, and ranches.
There are plenty of amenities for residents of West Highland Park to enjoy in the surrounding area, including several parks such as Hyland Park. Located a few miles to the north, Hyland Park Preserve is spread out of 2,565 acres of land with an abundance of trails and recreational amenities such as skiing, snowboarding, disc golf, cycling, camping, and more. The closest dining destination in the area lies a few miles to the southwest and includes popular restaurants such as Dominoes, Subway, and Burger King. Some local shops include Scoops, West Side Perk, and Aly’s Market.
West Highland Park is served by Independent School District 271, also known as Bloomington Public Schools, which has served the entire City of Bloomington since 1917. The closest school to West Highland Park is Bethany Academy, which serves students in grades K-12. Bethany educates from a Christian worldview while providing small class sizes and nurturing strong friendships among students. Other nearby schools include Normandale Hills Elementary, Olson Elementary and Middle School, and Thomas Jefferson High School.
