Oak Hill, situated in Ward 3, is an older more mature neighborhood in St. Louis Park. The Oak Hill neighborhood is bordered by Minnetonka Boulevard in the north, Highway 7 in the south, Louisiana Avenue in the east, and Texas Avenue in the west. Residents in Oak Hill number approximately 2,498 people.

 

In total, Oak Hill is situated on 277.3 acres and has 26 residential blocks. Of the 277.3 acres, 15.8 percent is occupied by parkland and open spaces. There are about 1,182 housing units comprised of 636 single family homes, 128 condominiums, 2 town homes, 388 apartments, and 28 duplexes. The average construction year of the single family houses is 1952.

 

The neighborhood features many excellent parks, and St. Louis Park’s largest park is located in Oak Hill. There are soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a sledding hill for the winter months. The walking and cross country ski trails are popular year round. Walker Park is situated just southwest of Louisiana Park. This park is home to a soccer field.

 

While there are few to no shopping, dining, or entertainment options within Oak Hill, residents are within close proximity to amenities in other St. Louis Park neighborhoods. Directly next to Oak Hill lies the Aquila neighborhood, which has much to offer. Knollwood Mall is situated in southern Aquila and offers an assortment of shops and restaurants. Authentic local restaurants and entertainment are primarily located in northern the Aquila neighborhood, including Texa-Tonka Lanes, which is an old-school bowling alley with classic American food, and the authentic Best of India.
