The Brookview Heights neighborhood derived its name from one of the area’s first developers. Brookview Heights is situated in the Southwest quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north by 66th Street, on the east by Highway 100, on the south by 70th Street and on the west by Ridgeview Drive. The neighborhood is easily recognized by its by its winding streets and older trees. Brookview is mainly residential, and its picturesque landscape is made up of rolling hills and the Nine Mile Creek.
Along with most of Edina, the neighborhood was developed mostly during the 1950-1970’s. Brookview is a short drive from Southdale Center, the Galleria, and the Valley View Middle School and Edina High School campuses, offering residents easy acccess to some for the top schools and recreational amenities in Edina. Most of the residential space is in Duggan Plaza, which was named for the old farm it was built upon.
Residents of the Cahill Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as Edina Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is Valley View Middle School. Valley View Middle School serves 1,396 students in 6th through 9th grade providing an excellent academic program designed to help each succeed. Other schools in the area include Creek Valley Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School, South View Middle School, and Edina High School.
