The neighborhood community of Hillendale is located on the southeast side of Shorewood off of Mill Street just south of highway 7. Hillendale is a scenic wooded neighborhood full of mature trees, providing residents with a secluded neighborhood atmosphere. The closest school to Hillendale is Excelsior Elementary School. Excelsior Elementary serves 750 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with a student teacher ratio of 13.5. Excelsior Elementary is an excellent school dedicated to providing students with an exceptional academic program designed to help each student excel. Other schools in the area include Deephaven Elementary School, MInnetonka Middle School East, and Minnetonka High School.
