Sunfish Lake, Minnesota is situated in Dakota County just about 5 miles due south of St. Paul. The small community is laid out over 1.69 square miles and is home to about 526 residents. Sunfish Lake is a small town that takes pride in their heritage and seeks to maintain its pristine rural character with large lot sizes and little disruption to the natural environment.
In the fall, the Sunfish Lake community hold a Chili Cook Off at the Halloween Hayride. Residents take part in contributing their best chili into a contest and enjoying each others company. This event takes pride in their city and brings the community together.
Even though Sunfish Lake is a small city, residents have many opportunities with the larger surrounding cities of Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, West St. Paul, South St. Paul as well as the Twin Cities.
