The Heights neighborhood, with a population of 1,050 residents, is situated in the Southwest quadrant of Edina. It is bordered on the north and the east by Nine Mile Creek, on the south by 70th Street, and on the west by Tracy Avenue and Valley View Road. This neighborhood showcases homes constructed during the 1960’s, with many properties adjoining the green space along Nine Mile Creek.
In between two wonderful parks, McGuire Park and Heights Park, The Heights is a charming single-family neighborhood. Of the 450 or so homes, most are in the styles of ramblers, two-story, and split. The Heights neighborhood will benefit from the construction of the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail, which will be completed by 2017.

Heights Park: Heights Park is the premier park within the Heights neighborhood. At 4 acres, the park offers fabulous recreational amenities in a conveniently-sized area. Visitors enjoy the playground, baseball field, ½ basketball court, picnic areas, walking paths, and benches. All of the park’s amenities have been recently updated, increasing its appeal to the local community. A perfect destination for a ballgame, picnic, or simply a walk through the park, Heights Park is an important component of the Heights neighborhood.
McGuire Park: McGuire Park is a small, 2-acre park with a classic offering of amenities. Children enjoy climbing on the playground or playing ball games in the nearby field. Parents can watch their children play from numerous benches located around the park, or they can join in on the fun! A safe and simple park option, residents of the Heights neighborhood cherish this local treasure.
Residents of The Heights Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as Edina Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is Valley View Middle School. Valley View Middle School serves 1,396 students in 6th through 9th grade providing an excellent academic program designed to help each succeed. Other schools in the area include Creek Valley Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School, South View Middle School, and Edina High School.
