With a population of 900 residents, Presidents is a small neighborhood that is situated in the Northwest quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north by Excelsior Boulevard, on the east by Blake Road, on the south by Waterman Avenue, and on the west by Highway 169. The neighborhood is a section of Edina that has former U.S. Presidents as names of its Avenues, such as Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Jackson. This section of Edina has a unique feel from other neighborhoods like Parkwood Knolls and Interlachen Park, with their estate-like homes. The neighborhood is within the limits of the Hopkins School District. This has been a foundation for controversy, with many of the residents wanting to be in the school district of their own city.
The Presidents neighborhood is home to one park.
Alden Park: Alden Park is the only park found within the Presidents neighborhood. A peaceful, 5-acre park situated among grassy hilltops, Alden Park is a staple of the local neighborhood offering a wide variety of recreational amenities. In addition to offering visitors a playground and a basketball court, the park includes numerous benches and picnic areas for passive recreation. Alden Park is one of the top parks in the area that all residents of the Presidents neighborhood can enjoy.
Residents of the Cahill Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as Edina Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is Valley View Middle School. Valley View Middle School serves 1,396 students in 6th through 9th grade providing an excellent academic program designed to help each succeed. Other schools in the area include Creek Valley Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School, South View Middle School, and Edina High School.
