Meadow Neighborhood

The Fox Meadow neighborhood name appointees seemingly couldn’t choose between two existing names that came from the geographical characteristics of Fox Meadow, so they picked the name of the only park in the neighborhood. The Fox Meadow neighborhood is located in the Northwest quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north and east by Mirror Lake, on the south by Vernon Avenue, and on the west by Blake Road.  The long and narrow Mirror Lake is on the neighborhood’s eastern border, and Fox Meadow Park is nearby. Of the 250 homes, most were built in the 1950’s through the 80’s.

Fox Meadow Park: Fox Meadow Park is one of the newly remodeled parks in Edina. It encompasses an area of 4 acres and offers visitors access to a playground, beautiful gazebo, benches, and walking trails. The revitalization of the park was made possible through the donations of nearby neighbors. Cherished by the local community, Fox Meadow Park is an important destination within the Fox Meadow community.

Mirror Lake: Mirror Lake is located directly above Fox Meadow Park and plays a role in the local neighborhood. Numerous homes are located along the lake, offering abundant wildlife and scenic views. While the lake isn’t a motorized body of water, it adds to the beauty of the area. Additionally, it runs adjacent to the Interlachen Country Club located in a nearby neighborhood.

Residents of the Interlachen Park Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as Edina Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is Highlands Elementary School. Highlands Elementary is one of six elementary schools in the district and specialized in offering a Continuous Progress and Discovery Program. Highlands serves  serves 580 students and has a student/teacher ratio of 16.2. Other schools in the area include South View Middle School, Concord Elementary School, Valley View Middle School, and Edina High School.
