Oaks Neighborhood


With a population of 500 residents, White Oaks is also one of the smallest Edina neighborhoods. Situated in the northeast quadrant of the city of Edina,White Oaks Neighborhood in Edina, Minnesota it is bordered on the north by 46th Street/Sunnyside Road, on the east by France Avenue, on the south by 49th Street, and on the west by Maple Road. White Oaks is mainly a residential neighborhood with several winding roads traveling through it.

 

Appropriately named for its wealth of trees, obviously white oak in particular, the 40 acres of White Oaks land was initially a part and a parcel of the Baird Farm. The rest of the Baird farmland had been traded to Thorpe Brothers Realty for expansion of the Country Club District in 1922. It was sold independently from the White Oaks parcel, attained by the Ecklund family in 1936. The distinctive landscape of the neighborhood has been conserved with some of its magnificent oaks dating back 150 years or more.

 

Of the 150 homes here, most of them were built in 1930’s and 40’s. The housing options consist of delightful one-and-a-half story homes, mixed with classic two-Homes in White Oak Neighborhood in Edina, Minnesotastory homes, million dollar estate homes, and new construction multi-million dollar homes. It is the most charming neighborhood around to take leisure strolls in as the natural magnificence and quiet atmosphere allow for great appreciation of the neighborhood’s beauty.

 

While the neighborhood does not boast much in the way of commercial development, it is located just north of the 50th & France Neighborhood. 50th 50th and France Neighborhood in Edina, Minnesota& France features a wide variety of shops and entertainment options, all of which are easily accessible to White Oaks residents. Additionally, a wealth of dining, shopping, entertainment, and parks options can be found in the surrounding neighborhoods and cities.
