Overview of Creek

Knoll Neighborhood


Creek Knoll is a peaceful neighborhood located next to the Minnehaha Creek. It is situated in the Northeast quadrant of the city of Edina. Creek Knoll is bordered on the north by 54th St, on the south and east by the Minnehaha Creek, and on the west by France Ave. Of the 360 homes located within the neighborhood, most were built between the 1960’s and 80’s and the predominant styles are rambler and two-story.

 

Sections of Creek Knoll were directed for residential development more than one century ago. Two different subdivisions were established in the neighborhood in the maps of Hennepin County from the 1890’s. Ivandale Park was established along 54th Street across from Minneapolis between Beard and France Avenues. The other section was South Bend, which included part of what is now a cemetery next to France Avenue. This cemetery is a beautiful area that is well maintained. It offers a peaceful and quiet place for residents to visit and reflect.

 

York Park: The Creek Knoll neighborhood contains half of York Park. A largely undeveloped park, York Park offers visitors passive outdoor recreation. It is seated along the MinnehahaSign of York Park in Edina, Minnesota Creek, and its walking paths provide visitors with a very peaceful stroll while allowing for scenic views of the natural beauty. The other half of York Park is found within the Chowen Park neighborhood and includes a baseball field.

 

Residents of the Creek Knoll Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as EdinaSouth View Middle School in Edina, Minnesota Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is South View Middle School. South View Middle School serves 1,334 students providing an excellent academic program designed to help each succeed. Other schools in the area include Normandale Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School, Valley View Middle School, and Edina High School.
