Overview of the Grant

Neighborhood


The Grant neighborhood lies on the western side of the City of Shorewood on Academy Avenue off of Highway 7. The neighborhood consists of around 100 single family homes with a wide variety of styles including ramblers, two story traditionals, and ranches. Homes for sale within the Grant neighborhood have prices ranging from $200,000 to $660,000 in price.

 

The Grant neighborhood offers an excellent, central location within Shorewood. For recreational amenities, residents can enjoy Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail in Shorewood, MinnesotaLake Minnewashta to the southwest which has a wide variety of amenities such as volleyball courts, a beach and swimming area, picnic shelters, trails for walking and cross-country skiing, and a playground. Also located nearby to the north is Downtown excelsior, where residents can go for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Popular destinations include Excelsior Brewing Company, Maynards, Museum of Lake Minnetonka, and the Excelsior Library. Residents can also enjoy a tour of the lake on from the Paradise Charter Cruises and Minneapolis Queen.

 

Residents of Grant are served by Independent School District 276 also known as Minnetonka Public Schools. The Minnetonka Excelsior Elementary School in Excelsior, MinnesotaSchool District serves 10,400 students in 14 different schools.The closest school to the Grant neighborhood is Excelsior Elementary School, which is located just a couple miles to the northeast. Excelsior Elementary is ranked in the top ten elementary schools in Minnesota and is a has been named a Minnesota Reward School five times. The school serves approximately 750 students in grades K-5, with a student/teacher ratio of 13.5 Other schools in the area include St. John the Baptist School, Minnetonka Middle School West, and Minnewashta Elementary.
