Lake Riley is located in Eden Prairie, south of Highway 212 and east of Great Plains Boulevard. Riley is part of the Riley Creek Chain of Lakes which originates at Lake Lucy. Fishing & boating are popular on Riley and the city of Eden Prairie operates a swimming beach & boat access. The most common fish in the lake is Bluegill, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Yellow Bullhead and is also considered the deepest lake in the district.
Connected to the Lake is Riley Lake Park. It has a basketball court, bike trails, a boat ramp, a fishing pier, park shelter, picnic area, playground, sand volleyball, beach, tennis courts and a baseball diamond. It’s also amazing to state that per the website, wallethub.com, Eden Prairie was rated as third in the country for having the best beaches including this one!
The lake also hosts events such as the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. There is also a full disc golf course within the park area.
Just east of the lake is the premier Bearpath Golf and Country Club. This is one of the top spots of Eden Prairie that is surrounded by the prestigious Bearpath gated community. And just west of the lake is Bandimere Heights park. This park is a sports park which has several baseball diamonds, soccer fields, disc golf course and a basketball court. South west of the lake you find another great golf course. Bluff Creek Golf Course is an 18 hole course that also can host weddings and events.
