Rice Lake is a beautiful scenic lake within the community of Maple Grove located off Interstate 94. The area around Rice Lake was first inhabited by the Winnebago Indians who moved to the area from Wisconsin. The area was first settled by western settlers in the early 1850’s when they purchased land in the area. As more people came to the area the population of the settlement continued to grow. The settlement was named Maple Grove and in its early year many small businesses operated in the area. These businesses included a sawmill, a train depot, and cheese factory. These businesses helped the community grow and become a thriving community.

Kerber Park is a community park located just east of Rice Lake offering a wide range of recreational activities. Kerber Park is a great place to enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding the area.
