This neighborhood park’s most notable feature is its single softball field, which is the home of the South St. Paul youth and high school girl’s fastpitch softball teams. Also located on the the park is a playground, tennis courts, a paved and boarded hockey rink, and large, open areas for passive recreational activities.

Lorraine Park: Lorraine Park is the hub of outdoor recreational activity in the summer months. Built in 1930, the park offers various amenities and central location. Since its opening in 1993, the outdoor Splash at Lorraine Park offers a cool escape from the heat of summer with zero-depth entries, a slide, spray areas, a separate spa, and a bathhouse with concessions. The park is also home to a large stand of majestic oak trees throughout the grounds that provide a cool canopy on warm summer days. Other amenities include a large picnic shelter with a detached restroom building, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, and McGuire Field, which is home to a variety of youth and adult baseball leagues. During the winter months, residents also enjoy using the park’s paved and boarded hockey rinks and warming house.

Mississippi Regional River Trail: Spanning 5.8 miles of paved trail that runs Mississippi River shoreline, Mississippi Regional River Trail is one of South St. Paul’s most used biking and walking trails. The trial was built on top of the river levee, providing beautiful scenery and flat terrain. The trail has 5 access points, which makes the it available for all ages and abilities.

Veterans Field: Dedicated in memory to all who Served, Veterans Field was developed as public ball fields. The land originally served as temporary housing for veterans of World War II, but was then dedicated as a memorial and ball field in 1953. The park features four baseball/softball fields, a batting cage, a large playground structure, a picnic shelter, and a restrooms/concessions building.

Northview Park: Built in 1956 with a box-style pool, Northview Park continues to provide fun and refreshment to the residents of South St. Paul. The pool itself ranges from 3 to 12 feet and features an elevated diving board and tube slide. Residents also enjoy a bathhouse with lockers/restrooms and a concessions stand. Other amenities include playground equipment, a full-sized basketball court, and a small baseball diamond.
