Located on the western side of the City of Orono is the Turham neighborhood. Turham, like many of the neighborhoods in the area, is quiet and spacious. The small neighborhood consists of around 30 single family homes that range between $300,000 to $1,500,000. Turham consists primarily of rambler and split level homes that are situated on spacious lots with mature trees. Turham is an excellent neighborhood with much to offer including great homes for sale, family friendly community, and easy access to several amenities.
Even though Turham is situated on the outskirts of the City of Orono, the neighborhood is still just a short drive to some of the city’s best shopping, dining, and recreational amenities because of its close proximity to Highway 12. One of the closet amenities to the neighborhood is Noerenberg Memorial County Park. This beautiful park is regarded as one of the finest gardens in Minnesota and is the perfect destination for a quiet stroll. The closest shopping center is located in downtown Maple Plain to the west. Popular restaurants include Subway, Pete’s Pizza, Blackwater Coffee Co & Cafe, and McGarry’s Pub
Turham is served by Independent School District 278, also known as Orono Public Schools, which serves around 2,000 students in grades K-12. All of the Orono schools are uniquely located in one located along Old Crystal Bay Road North and Lake Classen to the west. Orono Middle School serves around 700 students in grades 6-8. Class sizes average around 17 students per teacher. Other schools in the area include Schumann Elementary, Orono Senior High, and Orono Intermediate School.
