The Downtown neighborhood is located in the center of Excelsior northeast of Oak Street. The closest school to Downtown is Excelsior Elementary School. Minnewashta Elementary serves 750 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with a student teacher ratio of 13.5. Excelsior Elementary seeks to provide an excellent educational program designed to help each student excel. Other schools in the area include Deephaven Elementary School, Minnewashta Elementary School, Minnetonka Middle School West, and Minnetonka High School.
