Tonka Bay, Minnesota is one of the lakeshore cities located in the western metro, next to Lake Minnetonka, and is a part of Hennepin County. With an area of a 1-square mile and a population of close to 1,500 residents, the city has more shoreline on Lake Minnetonka than any of the other cities of its size. The city contains many old estates that add to the history of the town. Today, the city is mainly residential. There are around 651 homes in Tonka Bay, with 310 houses located on the lake’s shores.
