Located by the popular Lake Minnetonka, the city of Shorewood is truly a beautiful place to live. With a population of over 7,000 residents, and a geographic area covering just over 5-square miles of land, the community of Shorewood is close-knit. The residents enjoy the city’s wonderful lakeside living together and Lake Minnetonka provides much of the city’s entertainment and recreational options. On most summer days, you can see the waters bustling with a wide variety of activity. The city contains many beautiful homes, whose occupants appreciate the city’s recreational and educational options, community fellowship, and convenient location. It is truly an ideal city in which to raise a family.
Shorewood is part of the western Minnesota metro, and is a member of Hennepin County. It is also a part of the Lake Minnetonka community, and shares this unique aspect with its surrounding neighbor cities of Excelsior, Tonka Bay, and Deephaven. The main route through the city is State Highway 7, which connects it with the larger suburban city of Minnetonka, and Interstate 494. Minneapolis is a 45 minute commute from the city, which is close enough for Shorewood’s residents to enjoy the big-city amenities, but far enough away to allow them to remain in a more charming and private community.
