The city of Shoreview, Minnesota is home to an active parks and recreation department. Rice Creek Fields: When it comes to athletics within Shoreview, the Rice Creek Fields are the go-to destination. At 10 acres in size, the Rice Creek Fields pack several fantastic amenities within their borders. The fields are most frequently used for baseball. There are 4 tournament quality fastpitch ballfields, batting cages, and training areas available for community teams and leagues. Shoreview Commons: At 40 acres, the Shoreview Commons act as a community gathering grounds. Conveniently located adjacent to the Shoreview Community Center, the Shoreview Commons include two soccer fields, a basketball court, walking paths, two playgrounds, a picnic shelter with outdoor grills, two sand volleyball courts, a hockey rink, a warming house, two tennis courts, two ballfields, a beautiful pavilion, and a skatepark. With so many amenities, many of which that are related to the different seasons, the Shoreview Commons are a community destination year-round.

Island Lake Park: One of Shoreview’s notable county parks is Island Lake Park. Located on Island Lake, Island Lake Park offers residents of Ramsey County several fantastic amenities. The most notable amenity found at the park is its boat access. Boaters and fisherman can enjoy a public boat launch as well as shoreline fishing and fishing pier locations. This connection to the water makes Island Lake Park a busy destination during the warmer months. The park features three large picnic shelters which are available for rent by members of the community. Two of these shelters feature water and electricity, and all three include ample seating for events and gatherings. The park also includes a large playground, a ballfield, two sand volleyball courts, and plenty of parking.

Turtle Lake Park: Located on the largest lake in Shoreview, Turtle Lake, Turtle Lake Park is one of four county parks located within the city. While offering fewer amenities than some of the other county parks, the large waterfront more than makes up for it. Turtle Lake Park includes one large picnic shelter, outdoor grills, a playground, a ballfield, a swimming beach, and a boat launch. With great access to the lake, places to play, and areas to relax, guests are sure to enjoy Turtle Lake Park and its amenities, especially during the warmer months.
