Oak Hill Park : Oak Hill Park is one of the most popular places to be in the summer. The park offers softball diamonds, basketball courts and trails for those who want to be active. In the winter months, a sledding hill and ice rink open up. Oak Hill Park also features a water playground that lets young children splash in what is essentially a giant sprinkler. It is a huge hit among children and perfect for young families.
Aquatic Park: St. Louis Park’s own community water park, the Aquatic Park encompasses 20,000 square feet of water. With a water playground, geysers, splash toys, a 25-meter lap pool, zero-depth entry to allow visitors to wade into the water, two drop slides, two winding tube water slides, a wet sand playground, picnic gazebo, concession stand, and an aqua obstacle course, Aquatic Park is the ultimate summer destination. The park hosts a number of events and, while not free, it is a great value for family fun.
Wolfe Park: Wolfe Park is the home to a number of community events. Featuring a year-round pavilion, walking trail, a fishing pond, and picnic shelters, Wolfe Park makes a great location for a peaceful afternoon. A playground, basketball court and sand volleyball court are located in the middle of the park, providing active amenities for those desiring activity. The Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater is connected to Wolfe Park and provides seating for 200 people. The amphitheater features many concerts throughout the summer months.
Westwood Hills Nature Center: The Westwood Hills Nature Center is focused on providing environmental education, wildlife observation, and outdoor entertainment. With a picnic area, 3 miles of trails, and absolutely beautiful scenery, Westwood Hills is a wonderful educational and explorational setting for all ages. Part of the trail features labeled wildflowers and an observation honeybee hive. In addition to open trails, the center hosts classes throughout the year.
Aquila Park: Aquila Park is located on the west side of St. Louis Park. It contains lighted softball diamonds, football fields, basketball courts, four tennis courts, horseshoes and a playground structure. A trail system also runs throughout the park and is perfect for bikers, runners, or walkers. Aquila Park also has many picnic tables and sun shelters available, making it a great location for a summer picnic.
