The city of Little Canada, Minnesota is a medium-sized suburb located north of St. Paul and northeast of Minneapolis. Home to just over 10,000 residents, Little Canada is a city with a rich history and close community. This community is most evidently seen through the city’s events, local businesses, and amenities.

When it comes to events in Little Canada, there is none more exciting than Canadian Days. Started in 1976 as a bicentennial celebration, the event was so popular that it became an annual event. Anticipated each year by the community, Canadian Days strives to provide residents with a summer festival, promote friendships between Little Canada and sister city Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and to raise money for youth-oriented activities and organizations within Little Canada. With a classic car show, medallion hunt, 5k race, family games and activities, and local businesses represented, Canadian Days is always a highlight of the year.

There are several notable locations within the city of Little Canada. Porterhouse Steak & Seafood is one of the most elegant dining locales in the city. With aged steaks, fresh seafood, included salads and side dishes, a full-service bar, and a wine list, Porterhouse Steak & Seafood is ready to welcome you in with excellent service. The warm, comfortable dining room and freshly baked bread is an added bonus.

Little Canada has several bars in town, each of which have events that run throughout the week and throughout the year. Gordie’s place is known for its volleyball leagues, with its own volleyball court located outside of the bar. Hoggsbreath Bar & Grill features a gameroom, dance floor, and events every night. One of the most unique restaurants is Taste of Scandinavia Bakery & Cafe. A European-style bakery with delicious baked goods, each day traditional Scandinavian classics such as Kransekake, Handmade Potato Lefse, and Jule Kage are baked fresh from scratch.

In addition to the wonderful community events and businesses located within the city, residents of Little Canada also enjoy fabulous access to the Twin Cities metro area. With Interstates 35E and 694 running straight through the heart of the city, the majority of the metropolitan area is accessible with a short drive.
