Lilydale, Minnesota located along the Mississippi River, and home to about 700 residents, is a small city with Dakota County. This little town was founded in 1886. Lilydale has a total geographical area of 0.87 square miles; of which 0.29 square miles consists of water, and because the city lies within a national park, the city offers many jaw-dropping vantage points for viewing the Mississippi River.
On the top of the bluff, where the majority of the residents live, are many of the homes and neighborhoods. The residents love the views of the river and the frequent sightings of eagles as they fly overhead. There are also many parks and trails throughout this small town, the most popular of these parks being Lilydale Regional Park and the Big Rivers Regional Trail. With the mix outdoor activities paired with being in the middle of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, residents in Lilydale are happy with the location of their homes.
