The city of Golden Valley, MN is a city of a little over 21,000 residents. As an employment center and a member of the Hennepin county, residents of the city enjoy a busy and active community. The Brookview Golf Course is a prized component of the Golden Valley community. Featuring an 18-hole golf course, a 9-hole par 3 course, a driving range, clubhouse, and a golf shop, the Brookview Golf Course is full of great outdoor activities that are available for the public.
Two community centers are located in Golden Valley. They are the Davis and the Brookview Community Centers. The Davis Community Center is the activity center for Golden Valley. It is attached to the Meadowbrook elementary school, and features two full-size basketball or volleyball courts. The Brookview Community Center is attached to the Brookview Golf Course Clubhouse. It is the home to a number of offices, as well as the senior program events, and several parks and recreation events. In addition to the offices and activities on site, the Brookview Community Center has a meeting room that is available to be rented for parties of up to 200 people. This makes it the perfect destination for a wedding reception, party, or business meeting.
Golden Valley also has its own library that belongs to the Hennepin County Library system. A library system that is consistently ranked in the top 10 libraries nationwide, residents have access to all of the books and resources that are a part of this network through an interlibrary loan program.
Golden Valley is the home to several large businesses. The corporate headquarters of General Mills and Pentair are located within the city as well as other major employers include branches of Honeywell and Allianz Life. Golden Valley has a population of around 20,000 residents, but there are 30,000 people who are employed within the city. This is due to the presence of major employers, and sets Golden Valley apart from its neighbors as an employment center. Golden Valley also includes smaller businesses that residents can enjoy.
The stores located within this city range in size and style, but one of the most popular shopping destinations is the Golden Valley Commons. A collection of national brands and franchises, residents can enjoy the convenience that these stores offer and the wide selection that they present. This center features numerous dining options as well as several unique, local stores.
