City of Elko New Market: A Brief Overview
Elko New Market, home to the Elko Speedway and commonly referred to as simply Elko, is located in Scott county. A city of over 4,500 residents, Elko New Market was once two separate cities, the city of Elko and the city of New Market. Over time the two cities became integrated together, and a close-knit community has been formed. The city has a total area of 3.36 square miles, but residents enjoy wide open space in addition to numerous events and parks.
Interstate 35 is the main route through the city, as it is a straight shot to Minneapolis, which is 35 minutes north. Residents can use this highway to reach the big city and all of its amenities, or to travel to the larger suburban cities of Burnsville, Apple Valley, and Lakeville. A small-town community that is close to the big city benefits, Elko New Market offers residents the best of both worlds.
