Lakeland, Minnesota is located 16 miles east of St. Paul off of interstate 94, nestled on the shores of the St. Croix River in Washington County. The city of Lakeland covers 2.93 square miles and has a population of 1,814. The city offers a quaint small town community, with friendly people, overlooking the beautiful St. Croix River. Located just across the river from Hudson, Wisconsin and just a 15-20 minute drive from the Twin Cities, Lakeland offers much to its residents within the city and nearby.
The city of Lakeland offers several amenities to its residents and one of the most popular is the St. Croix River. One of the best ways residents can enjoy the river is through Beanies at Maui’s Landing. Beanies is a bait shop and boat launch allowing residents to take advantage of the access they have to the St. Croix River, which is a National Scenic Riverway. Beanies looks to help residents enjoy the great fishing available in the river along with enjoying the beauty surrounding the river. Beanies offers several types of boat rentals including fishing boat, pontoon, houseboat, and jet-ski.
Another popular event within the city of Lakeland is Stillwater Balloons. Stillwater Balloons offers hot air balloon rides to residents in Lakeland and surrounding areas. Stillwater Balloons provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the beauty of the St. Croix River Valley from the sky.
The city offers a beautiful small town community overlooking the St. Croix River. Although Lakeland does not provide the same amenities of a big city, its close proximity to Hudson, Wisconsin and the Twin Cities allows residents to enjoy the peacefulness of a small town while still having access to all the big city has to offer.
