Oak Park Heights is situated on 3.03 square miles bordering the St. Croix River, Stillwater, and Lake Elmo. With five area parks and many trails, residents enjoy many local recreational opportunities. Some of the most popular parks in the area include:
Brekke Park: Brekke Park is home to a large covered shelter building with restrooms, making it perfect for any event. Children enjoy the play equipment and baseball diamonds. Several barbeques are situated in the park, which are perfect for a casual day in the park. In the winter months, residents take advantage of an ice skating rink with a staffed warming house. The park is also newly home to a disc golf course. This course is perfect for both new learners and experienced disc-golfers.
Valley View Park: This park is a hidden treasure nestled in the outskirts of town. Equipped with a covered shelter building, picnic areas, and play equipment, Valley View Park has much to offer. The park is also home to trails throughout. Valley View Park has a prairie restoration area and wetlands, perfect for exploring. This park is a perfect destination for a passive day of fun and adventuring.
Autumn Hills Park: Autumn Hills Park is a beautiful park in a residential area. The park is home to an exceptional covered shelter building available for reservations. This 2,000 + square foot shelter, equipped with a covered gathering area, a small kitchen/serving area, men’s and women’s restrooms, and a water fountain, is the perfect place for any event. Autumn Hills Park also provides residents with a large playground and grassy area.
Cover Park: Cover Park is a great park in Oak Park Heights. This park provides a playground for children. Athletic options are available year round with a tennis court and skating rink. A beautiful flower garden is located within the park as well. Cover Park is an excellent local park to enjoy.
