Lotus Lake is located in northeast Chanhassen within Carver County, west of Highway 101 and north of Highway 5. The Lotus Lake watershed includes the majority of Chanhassen and a small portion of Eden Prairie east of Highway 101.

Lotus Lake is 240 acres with a maximum depth of 29 feet and an average depth of 16. The water clarity is fair and phosphorus is high creating a water quality impairment.  Invasive species in this lake are Eurasian Watermilfoil and Common Carp. Bluegill, Yellow Perch and Walleye are the most abundant common fish species in this lake. Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District completed a shoreline restoration project in 2013.

The Conservation Alliance puts on a 4th of July Lotus Lake Boat Parade, where the local boats deck their boat out in a

theme picked each year and all are on display on the lake.  In the end the top five best are picked as finalist with the winner walking away with the Golden Paddle Trophy!

There are two parks on the lake.  North Lotus Lake Park and (you guessed it) South Lotus Lake Park!  North is a 20-acre site sloping toward LotusLake and offers open space, a playground, ball field, tennis courts, picnic shelter, in-line skating/hockey rink, winter skating,

small sledding hill, trail loop, and off-street parking.  South is a seven-acre park that consists of three separate parcels. One borders Lotus Lake and offers a boat access, trails. The upland portions feature a playground, open field, and tennis courts. Off-street parking is available.

Carver Beach is located along Lotus Lake. There you can find a swimming beach, picnic area, playground, park trail, and a dock and canoe rack.
