Chaska prides itself in maintaining a small town feel, and yet the city offers endless recreational opportunities.  One of these opportunities, that Chaska is known for, is golf.  The city is home to three separate golf courses: Hazeltine National Golf Club, Chaska Par 30, and Chaska Town Course.

Hazeltine National Golf Club is known as a top-ranking golf destination in the upper Midwest. It offers 18 holes spanning throughout sweeping prairies, beautiful lakes, mature woods, and rolling hills, providing a challenging course for both beginners and pros alike. Hazletine is recognized across the world as an amazing course, and by 2016 it will be one of only two golf clubs in the entire country to have hosted every premier championship offered by the USGA and PGA of America. Events are also hosted at Hazeltine, providing an inviting yet exclusive ambiance. The standard of service, beautiful course, and the variety of rooms offered for social and business engagements provide members and guests with a rare and exceptional experience.

Chaska Town Course is a public course owned and operated by the City of Chaska and is recognized as one of the best courses in the Twin Cities. It was designed by Arthur Hills, a well-known golf course architect, and stretches over 285 acres of marshlands, open prairie, and oak groves. Beautiful bent grasses span from tee box to green. The St. Paul Pioneer press has even identified the course as a rare find, saying “Chaska has the feel of a Hazeltine spill-over course, tough enough to be used in conjunction with the nearby Hazeltine National for some big-time, big-field events that require more than just one course.”  This quote became a reality for the Town Course when Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course co-hosted the National Amputee Tournament in 2003 and United States Amateur in 2006.

Another great option for golfers is the Chaska Par 30.  It was designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened for play in 1971. The course offers a small and challenging game for golfers of all kinds.  The bent grass greens are average-sized and the bluegrass fairways are wide. Water hazards occur on 5 holes and one will find 15 sand bunkers along the course.  This is a great course for beginning players and for experienced golfers looking to challenge their short game.  Chaska Par 30 also offers Footgolf, a combination of the popular sport of soccer and the elite game of golf.  The Chaska city website offers information about tee times, league information, prices, and calendar of events.

The city of Chaska really is a wonderful place for people of all ages to enjoy nature and the family friendly community within it.
