Path-1West St. Paul, Minnesota has an area of 5.01 square miles, 4.91 square miles of which is land and 0.10 square miles of water.  Within the city, there are over 14 different parks offering a variety of amenities for all ages.  Some of the most popular parks include Garlough Park, Marthaler Park, Weschcke Park, Albert Park, Harmon Park, and Dodge Nature Center .

Garlough Park:  Garlough park is situated on 23 acres of wooded land. Residents enjoy a leisurely time on walking trails.  Picnic shelters and the large wooded land also allow for an enjoyable day.  This park specially includes a disc golf course.  At Garlough park, the disc golf course is 1,850 ft long and consists of 9 holes.

Marthaler Park:  Marthaler Park is situated on 34 acres, which offer a variety of amenities.  Locals enjoy a playground and picnic shelter as well as a large grassy area and biking trails.  This park also offers fishing in its body of water.  Basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts offer enjoyment for all ages.

Path-2Weschcke Park:  Weschcke Park is a neighborhood hub located on 5.5 acres.  This park offers fun year round for all.  There is a playground, picnic area with a grill as well as basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts.  In the winter months, there is a skating rink with a warming house.  

Albert Park:  Albert Park is located in a suburban neighborhood off of Smith, Dodd, and Bernard Streets and was built in 1931.  This park is a memorial for Albert LeFevre, who on October 25, 1930 drowned in the Mississippi River.  In the middle of the park, lays a marble monument surrounded by many flower beds.  Albert Park is considered the United States smallest dedicated park and was recognized in Ripley’s Believe it or Not in 1967.  

DocumentHarmon Park: Harmon park, located on 19 acres, is perhaps the most popular park in West St. Paul.  For children of all ages, there is a playground with a water splash pad for warm summer days.  This park also consists of numerous baseball diamonds, a batting cage, and soccer fields.  There is a concession stand and a neighborhood center located within Harmon Park as well.  In the winter months, residents enjoy a hockey and skating rink with a warming house.

Dodge Nature Center:  Dodge Nature Center is an environmental education organization that spans over 460 acres in West St. Paul as well as Mendota Heights and Cottage Grove.  Founded by Olivia Irvine Dodge in 1967, visitors today enjoy a variety of opportunities and experiences.  People of all ages explore the prairies, lakes, wetlands, hardwood forests, and a farm.  On this beautiful land, there are eight miles of hiking trails open 24/7, seven days a week for locals and visitors alike.  Dodge Nature Center offers community education opportunities on evenings and weekends.  Each year, this park serves over 40,000 children and families through education and entertainment.  From hiking to farm animals from concerts to tapping for maple syrup from picnics to snow shoeing, there is year-round fun for all ages.
