With a population of 1,100 residents, Minnehaha Woods is situated in the Northeast quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north by 54th Street, on the east by France Avenue, onMinnehaha Creek at Arden Park in Edina, Minnesota the south by Philbrook Lane, and on the west by Wooddale Avenue. Minnehaha Woods truly characterizes a neighborhood with many different housing options. The 360 homes were built mostly in the early 1930’s, and several more in the late 1900’s. The most common housing styles are two-story ramblers. Naturally, the neighborhood derives its name from being filled with so many mature trees, curving streets, and the stunningly picturesque Minnehaha Creek flowing through its spacious land.

 

The previously mentioned Minnehaha Creek provides a beautiful view for many homeowners who live near its flowing waters. The creek winds its way to the cliff of the beautiful Minnehaha Falls and the Mississippi River, a popular tourist destination in the area.

 

While there are very few amenities located directly within the Minnehaha Woods neighborhood, residents prefer it that way. As one of the more beautiful and peaceful areasDowntown Edina, Minnesota within the city, Minnehaha Woods is a highly desirable community in which to live. Residents desiring shopping, entertainment, or parks can easily find numerous options in the surrounding neighborhoods and cities.

 

Residents of the Minnehaha Woods Neighborhood are served by Independent School District 273 also known as EdinaSouth View Middle School in Edina, Minnesota Public Schools. Edina Public Schools is a nationally recognized district serving 8,500 students and is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each students. The closest school to the neighborhood is South View Middle School. South View Middle School serves 1,334 students providing an excellent academic program designed to help each succeed. Other schools in the area include Normandale Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School, Valley View Middle School, and Edina High School.
