The district serves all of Hopkins, about half of Golden Valley, and portions of Eden Prairie, Edina, Plymouth, and St. Louis Park. Hopkins Public Schools offers tremendous education benefits in a real-world setting. They provide six elementary schools, one Chinese immersion school, two junior high schools, and one high school.

Hopkins Schools’ district hosts a few preschools. These preschools allow the opportunity to serve the city’s youngest members, as they are prepared for the education to follow. This safe and hands-on learning environment is the perfect place for little ones to have fun, develop, and grow.

A warm, friendly environment, commitment to excellence, and technology integrated learning make Meadowbrook Elementary one of the top elementary schools in the area. Eisenhower Elementary is another top-notch elementary school in the district. The mission of this school is to be a caring community of students, families and staff that are committed to excellence. The principal and other teachers truly enjoy working with this school’s 800 students daily.

As a part of Eisenhower’s Program, Hopkins Schools also service a Chinese Immersion School called XinXing. XinXing is an early immersion program. All core subject matter is taught in Mandarin for the full day in grades K-2nd grade. Students learn to read and write in Mandarin initially. English language arts are introduced for the equivalent of one hour per day beginning in 3rd grade. The goal is biliteracy in Chinese and English.

Hopkins West Junior High challenges and inspires students to be courageous, life-long learners who responsibly contribute to an evolving global community. Hopkins West Junior High is Minnesota’s first “national middle school of excellence”. Hopkins West has also been named by the National Association of Secondary School Principals as one of “100 Highly Effective” middle-level schools in the country. Much of this is due to the outstanding staff that are picked specifically to fit the needs of this school and its students.

St. John’s Catholic School is a private Catholic school in Hopkins, Minnesota. It has 130 students in grades PK-6th grade. This school offers a mix of faith and learning, which is something many families look for when picking schools. The smaller class sizes allow for the students to learn in the best environment possible during the most critical development stages of their lives.

Hopkins High School is Minnesota’s first “National High School of Excellence”. This is the only high school in the district, and it serves 2,000 students in 10th through 12th grade. This school continues to attract new students each year, and it is not difficult to see why. They have been in the top 5% of high schools in the nation by Newsweek and U.S. News every year since 2005. They have over 250 courses and do well in preparing their students for post-secondary education. Hopkins High School has an outstanding, highly trained staff, with more than 80% holding master’s degrees. Hopkins teachers are widely known and respected for their leadership in state and national professional organizations.
