The city of North Oaks is a small exclusive suburban community just 10 miles northeast of St. Paul. The city of North Oaks has a total of 5,000 residents and is just a 20-minute drive from St. Paul. This quiet city is rich in history and emphasizes maintaining the natural environment surrounding the community. North Oaks is a private community where the residents own the streets and the Homeowners Association owns the parks, trails, and recreational facilities throughout the city. The city of North Oaks has a wonderful community with numerous amenities within the city and nearby in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

One of the many events held in North Oaks is the North Oaks Community Fair. The fair hosts several fun activities including the annual Pleasant Lake Run, parade, carnival games, food, dog show, and much more. This event is a great time to get together with the community, build relationships, and have a great time.

The city is also home to North Oaks Golf Club. Designed by Stanley Thompson, a golf course architect, North Oaks Golf Club provides golfers with a fun challenging course with beautiful rolling hills. The golf course also features a driving range, tennis court, dining, and banquet facilities hosting numerous weddings each year.

The city maintains numerous parks with beautiful scenery. Throughout the city there are several sports facilities, walking, hiking, and biking trails. North Oaks is close to several lakes, offering residents the opportunity to go boating and swimming. Residentss also have easy access to nearby Shoreview Library. Only 3 miles from North Oaks, Shoreview Library offers residents access to over 100,000 materials and 18 computers.

North Oaks is also home to the North Oaks Farm Historical Site. North Oaks Farm was a farm owned by James J. Hill, which eventually became the town of North Oaks. The farm is on the National Register of Historic Places and the city of North Oaks has done much to maintain and protect it. The original farm buildings have been restored and the blacksmith’s shop, machine shop, and dairy building are the only remaining original buildings. The farm offers informational displays and tours available to the public.

North Oaks is home to numerous small business, the majority of which have 10 or fewer employees. The city of North Oaks has employed 1,745 people. The 3 biggest businesses within the city are The UPS Store, North Oaks Golf Club, and North Oaks Lawn Services. The UPS Store helps out the small businesses of the area by providing these businesses with all their packaging, printing, and shipping needs. North Oaks is an entrepreneur-friendly community and a great place to start a business. Although there are not a lot of big businesses within the city of North Oaks, it’s convenient location provides residents with plenty of employment options in the nearby cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
