Fridley, Minnesota is known for having some of the most beautiful parks in the area. There are plenty of recreational and scenic options for residents to explore. A few of the many wonderful parks in this city include:

Springbrook Nature Center: The Springbrook Nature Center brings residents closer to nature all year long. Visitors can enjoy 3 miles of hiking trails through oak and aspen forests, wetlands with crossing bridges, and sweeping views of the natural prairies. These habitats host an abundance of wildlife for visitors to spot. Inside the Interpretive Center, visitors can also view live snakes, frogs, fish and more, as all the animals inside are native to Minnesota.

Riverfront Regional Park: Riverfront comprises 139-acres and is one of the hundreds of open green spaces along the Mississippi River. There are man-made trails that connect with the Minneapolis Park System and extend all the way to Dam Regional Park in Coon Rapids. During specific times of the year, a popular activity is to see various bird species on their migratory journey along the Mississippi River. The Riedel Farm Estate located within the park is a very popular choice for weddings, family events, and other large group activities.

Manomin Park: Manomin Park is an 18-acre park that has been around for almost 50 years. Rice Creek, which flows into the Mississippi River, is a popular scenic attraction for visitors of this park. Amenities include a gazebo-style picnic pavilion, period lighting, benches, a large restroom facility and paved as well as limestone trails. Park visitors can enter up to the river’s edge. Several small bridges allow visitors access across runoff areas. Visitors wishing to see Locke Lake should take the nearby walking tunnel under East River Road. On the way, fishermen may be lucky and catch some of the lake’s prized fish.

Fridley Community Park: Fridley Community Park is a 21-acre park where residents go to play baseball. Its six fields have diamonds as well as space for football. The attached park building and parking lots can accommodate large crowds on a busy tournament day.
