The city of Arden Hills, Minnesota primarily belongs to Independent School District (ISD) 621, or the Mounds View School District. A small section of the city is located in ISD 623, the Roseville School District. Despite being in school districts based out of the neighboring cities, the city of Arden Hills is home to an elementary school, a high school, and two universities.

The Mounds View School District (ISD 621) includes six elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. Their mission as a district is to, “educate learners through a broad range of programs that set high expectations and inspire outstanding achievement”.

Valentine Hills Elementary is one of the six elementary schools in the Mounds View School District. It is home to first through fifth graders. Valentine Hills is a fairly large elementary school with just over 750 students. In addition to academic fundamentals, students are encouraged to explore and develop their own special interests and talents. Students come to grown in knowledge while learning about cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self control (CARES).

Highview Middle School is one of three middle schools in the Mounds View School District. It is home to just over 700 students grades six through 8. At Highview Middle School, students can build relational skills as well as knowledge in a positive safe environment, properly preparing them for high school. The school emphasizes STEAM programs (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and ensures each student connects with a staff member throughout the duration of their middle school experience.

Mounds View High School is located in Arden Hills and is the high school that the majority of Arden Hills residents attend. The high school offers extensive athletics and arts opportunities. Students can participate in a wide range of academic clubs in addition to taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses which can potentially earn students college credits. The graduating class of 2014 from Mounds View High School had an average ACT score of 25.7. That is 4.7 points higher than the national average, and 2.8 points higher than the state average.

The city of Arden Hills has two private universities located within the city. Bethel University is the larger of the two and is located on Valentine Lake. Home to over 6,500 students, Bethel University is a private, Christian college offering 66 majors, graduate studies, and a seminary. The University of Northwestern- St. Paul is only partially located in Arden Hills. It is a private, Christian college that offers traditional 4-year degrees with over 70 different majors in addition to a nursing program, as well as some graduate programs.
